As a graphic designer, I can expect to make around $43,640 per year according to the Nebraska Career Information Systems website. Over time this number can grow, however, to about $54,730 per year. The salary that I receive will heavily rely on the area I decide to live in because salaries in many career fields vary substantially from state to state. Wages of graphic designers are also impacted by the type of project and skill level that they possess. 

The major employers of graphic designers include graphic design companies, newspaper, magazine, and book publishers, advertising agencies, and printing companies. Salaries are also dependent on which industry graphic designers choose to work in. 

 

Careers in graphic design are expected to grow by 8.7%, which is slightly under the 8.9% growth of all occupations. In Nebraska, there are 2,190 jobs in graphic design which is considered large by Nebraska Career Information Systems.

I predict that this will allow me to find a job fairly easily following my college graduation.
